topping it with a starburst of marzipan - easier to make than icing and so delicious.

FROM OUR RECIPE BOX - Chocolate Marzipan Cupcakes ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Cupcakes never go out of style and are more popular than ever. Chocolate marries well with marzipan so when this lovely mold from House on the Hill arrived, we were only too happy to try it out. (The mold is easy to use and produces a crisp, clean image.) Tinting our Love'n Bake Marzipan with liquid or paste food coloring adds a special touch whether for a birthday, anniversary or July 4th celebration. If you do not have a decorative mold, roll out the marzipan on a nonstick surface dusted lightly with confectioner's sugar. Cut the marzipan into circles with a cookie cutter or the rim of a glass. Keep the cupcakes covered with plastic wrap or in a sealed container to keep the marzipan moist. | |

FROM OUR RECIPE BOX- Almond and Lavender Honey Ice Cream ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Almonds require bees for pollination and often those bees sup the nectar of fragrant lavender. So the combination of an ice cream with the delicate scent of almonds, honey and lavender speaks to the summer season. This recipe is simple to make because there is no egg custard base. The Love'n Bake Almond Paste helps give it the creaminess associated with custard-style ice creams, although it does have a bit of texture from the ground nuts in the paste. If you can't find lavender honey, use a light clover-type honey and add a small amount of lavender blossoms to the mixture or omit the lavender entirely. We have long admired the marzipan and cookie molds made from resin and wood by House on the Hill. We were excited to try their Fireworks mold as a cupcake topper. Tinting Love'n Bake Marzipan is so easy and there is now no need to make icing to frost the cakes. | |
